GreenStage presents our 36th Season of FREE Shakespeare in the Park!

Since 1989 GreenStage has brought free Shakespeare in the park to Seattle area audiences. Our mission is to foster an appreciation for live theater by eliminating geographical and financial barriers that impede access to the arts. Our shows tour to over 20 parks, large and small in and around Seattle. Attending is easy – just show up, grab a spot on the grass and enjoy. No tickets or reservations are required. Our shows are focused on the text, story, and character relationships in Shakespeare’s plays, with a goal of making the plays fun and easy to understand. Come join us in the parks this summer for our 36th Anniversary season!

On the mainstage tour we will be presenting one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies and fan favorite Twelfth Night directed by Erin Day.  We will also be continuing Shakespeare’s War of the Roses saga with Henry VI Parts Two & Three directed by Zanne Gerrard.  Backyard Bard will be touring abbreviated productions All’s Well that Ends Well and Julius Caesar.

Performances will run from July 12 – August 17.

The Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival will also be back July 13 & 14.
