Shakespeare wrote in Venus  and Adonis that “gold that’s put to use more gold begets.”  We’re not certain, but the Bard’s poem may have been a fundraising pitch!

Announcing our 26th Season!

It's our 26th Season of Free Shakespeare in the Park, and this year we acccomplish something that few theatres have done. With our production of Othello, we will have produced every play in Shakespeare's canon. That's right, all 39 of Shakespeare's 37 plays - two more than many editors and scholors give Shakespeare credit for. But we believe that The Two Noble Kinsmen and Cardenio both count as being Shakespeare's, even if they had a few other pens involved.
