Canon Fodder: Pericles, Prince of Tyre

With our 2014 production of Othello GreenStage will complete Shakespeare's canon! We're continuing our celebratory look back at every play.

Today's play is Pericles, Prince of Tyre, performed by GreenStage in 1995.

David J. “All We Need is a Cart” Dodge directed this show. His descriptive nickname refers to a rather amazing prop used in the play: a cart that was a transformer! It became two ships, three thrones, and a whorehouse. Versatile, indeed! The cart was designed and built by Nathan Rodda, scenic designer for Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan. That's it in ship mode in the photo above. Pericles was Erin Day’s first show with the company, in the role of Thaisa.
