Assistant Stage Manager

GreenStage is looking for Assistant Stage Managers to join our 2023 Shakespeare in the Park team. Our summer season consists of three tours, each of which needs an assistant stage manager.

  • 2023 Season Shows are: 
    • Romeo and Juliet  directed by Luke Sayler
    • Henry VI-part one – directed by Zanne Gerrard
    • Backyard Bard productions of Comedy of Errors and Cymbeline directed by Artistic Director Erin Day

    (Backyard Bard consists of two 1 hour plays performed by the same cast of 4 actors.)

Each production tours to several different locations in and around Seattle. Assistant Stage Managers are responsible for helping stage manager with props, costumes, and other items during rehearsals and performances. ASMs may be asked to transport items to shows if needed.

The season runs from July 7 through August 12.

Rehearsals are weekday evenings and one weekend afternoon – 5 or 6 rehearsals a week. No long tech days

$500 stipend paid at the end of run

REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable transportation and up-to-date driver’s license is a plus
  • Have experience of working backstage.
  • Good communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help with organization of props, costumes, and small scenic pieces.
  • Attend rehearsals as needed, as well as all tech rehearsals, performances and production meetings
  • Arrive at the performance locations at least 1 hour before the performance and help strike after performances
  • Assist Stage Manager, House Manager, and Sound Tech with setup and strike as needed
