Keep GreenStage strong: please contribute on Giving Tuesday!
As 2024 comes to a close, we’d like to thank all the audiences, donors, and sponsors that made our 36th Season of Free Shakespeare in the Park a success. Since 1989 GreenStage has brought free live theatre to parks all around the Puget Sound area, reaching thousands of people each year.
Shakespeare’s plays have remained relevant for over 400 years due to their focus on human experiences that we can all identify with. By staging these plays simply, GreenStage strives to highlight the humanity that Shakespeare so keenly depicted.
GreenStage is an all-volunteer organization, with participants being paid a stipend to thank them for their time. In the past few years, we’ve invested in sound equipment to enhance performances, and are now renting vans to transport shows – reducing dependency on personal vehicles. The added costs of rentals, gas, and insurance has boosted our expenses by quite a bit. And we could use some help closing the budget gap.
GreenStage is hoping to raise an additional $10,000 by the end of 2024. Your gift on Giving Tuesday will help us reach that goal, and to fulfill our mission of fostering an appreciation of theatre by eliminating financial and geographical barriers that impede access to the arts. A donation today will keep the 2025 season on track.
Thank you!
— Ken Holmes, GreenStage Managing Director
P.S. You may know that the final performance in our 2024 season was cut short by a massive thunderstorm and torrential rain. If you were at that show, and are wondering how Twelfth Night ends, visit our YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/GreenStageShakes! All 2024 shows are now steaming.
