GreenStage is looking for a Tech Director / Set designer for our 2019 Shakespeare in the Park season. This person would also be in charge of designing and building any scenic pieces needed. Our summer season consists of three tours, all of which the TD/Set Designer would be working on.
We produce two full length Shakespeare plays, each with a cast of 12-15. These shows travel with footlights for evening shows and occasionally with a simple sound system or generator. Tech Director duties would include maintenance and repair of footlights, signboards, and sound equipment needed for the summer. Scenic design for our summer shows is fairly minimal, usually consisting of benches and other small set pieces that need to be easily transported.
Stage managers and ASMs are responsible for transporting items to performances.
TD/Set Designer would need to be available for production meetings and tech week, as well as during the summer to deal with any maintenance on tech items.
The season runs from July 12 through August 17, rehearsals begin around June 1. We perform in public parks in Seattle, Fall City, Lynnwood, Burien, and Maple Valley. Performances are Thursday – Sunday evenings, with matinees on weekends. Each production has around 20 total performances – 3-4 per weekend.
Stipend of $400 paid at end of run
