New venues, and a schedule change

GreenStage has been doing FREE Shakespeare in the Park for 27 years, but we’re still finding new places to play. We’ll visit three of them this week.

Tuesday, July 21 at 7 p.m. we will perform our Backyard Bard version of Macbeth at Hotel Albatross in Ballard. Just opened earlier this year, Hotel Albatross serves exotic and herbaceous tiki‑inspired cocktails meet eclectic street eats, so we’re calling it Tiki Bard!

Vashon Island’s Ober Park is not new to our schedule, but we will be performing there for the first time this week. GreenStage first scheduled a show there last summer, but foul weather forced us to a nearby indoor venue. We’re looking forward to playing outside for the first time at Ober Park with Much Ado About Nothing at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 23.

Finally, we’re excited to be visiting Maple Valley for the first time this summer, thanks to the sponsorship of the City of Maple Valley and the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council. We’ll be doing Much Ado at Lake Wilderness Park this Sunday, July 26, and The Two Noble Kinsmen the following Sunday, August 2. Both shows will begin at 4 p.m. PLEASE NOTE THE SCHEDULE CHANGE: Our printed materials have an incorrect start time for the Lake Wilderness Park shows. The plays will begin at 4 p.m. Those are the kinsmen, Arcite (J. Samuel Cowan) and Palamon (Adam St. John) in the photo at right above. Go see a play!
