With our 2014 production of Othello GreenStage will complete Shakespeare's canon! We're continuing our celebratory look back at every play.
Today's play is Tutis Andronicus, which GreenStage performed in 1995 and again in 2009.
Tony Driscoll cooked up the Hard Bard concept for the 1995 show, and directed both it and the 2009 revival, when Hard Bard became a yearly, indoor feature on the GreenStage calendar.
The photo at right is the only known image of the original 1995 production, rehearsals for which were held in a parking garage. In the photo above from 2009 that's Patrick Bentley at left in the title role of Titus, Nicole Vernon as the tongueless Lavinia, with Sam Hagen and Patrick Lennon.
