Canon Fodder: Richard II

Only nine other theater companies in the world have performed every play in Shakespeare's canon. With our 2014 production of Othello GreenStage will become the tenth! We're continuing our celebratory look back at every play.

Today's play is Richard II, which GreenStage staged in 1998.

Tony Driscoll directed this production, which was the first installment in our series of Shakespeare’s history plays, which we performed in chronological order. David Dodge played King Richard in the play, which was staged indoors at the Nippon Kan Theatre. The cast gathers around the king in the photo above.
